130 days left!

I have 130 days left until I get married and there's still so much left to do, whoops!

What I have done:

* Purchased wedding gown (I did this even before we set a date!! The VERY first thing I did hahahaah) Thanks for my ladies that helped me get in and out of these things @_@
* Booked the chapel & organist@ The Old Mill Inn. I'm really happy to get married in a church like thing even though I belong to no religion.. I just like them!
* Booked banquet hall @ The Old Mill Inn. Both our parents fell in love with this place!
* Booked photographer & Videographer, using my friend Ted Chai & Expose Studios
* Purchased supplies for DIY invites (still waiting for my heat gun to arrive) & finished most of the envelope liners. Did not start to design the card itself yet (only the contraption concept).. I'm actually starting to realize how much glue sticks suck as the liners don't really want to stick! It's just plain paper to plain paper!
* Purchased very non-traditional wedding favours <3
* Made half of the wine glass decorations

* SET THE DATE : August 30 2009!

Still need to desperately do:

* Alter gown & rent several other gowns
* Alter bridesmaid dress (I bought the same one as my BMs for myself too!) so I could wear it to our friend's wedding the week after ;) They were on sale and we got 6 for the price of ONE regular BM dress!! They're VERY versatile for all occasions.
* Purchase ribbon for making BM dress sashes (original sashes are black)
* Purchase wedding undergarments. I hope I will find something that will fit and not rip a hole in the wallet o_o All the girls will go out for this one since everyone needs something ^^
* Purchase shoes.. I do have a backup if I really can't find anything. It's just a bit dirty and doesn't quite match in colour ^^; My something old? HAHA .. I've worn the pair for graduation and my uncle's wedding.
* Book DJ. We could have done an ipod thing but then we wanted someone to entertain with games and such--oh and lights. Lots of lights!
* Design and print out wedding invitations~!!!! Being Asian, we never send out Save The Dates. I'm supposed to send the invites out at the end of this month. Hopefully my heat gun arrives then!
* Measure and rent out groom's and his mens' outfits! Both our dads will look extra special :) I'm excited since my dad has never really worn anything that matched before.
* Measure and rent mom's dress! She'll look so fancy with my dad XD WOO!
* Book hair dresser & Makeup artist ..
* Purchase fresh flowers & supplies to make centre pieces & other arrangements. Future mom will help with this~
* Purchase silk flowers for tossing bouquet
* Purchase wedding bands & earrings
* Purchase supplies to make a pearl necklace & possibly bracelet
* Rent some sort of car
* Order cake

I can't think of anything else right now but that is quite the to-do list left O_O;;;

Which envelope? HELP ME PICK!

I need as many opinions as I can get! My wedding colours are black, ivory, and light pink. Here are some colour mock-ups for the invitations. I am stuck with choosing between envelopes!!! The card's cover is black, and the insides are ivory.

Super fast meatballs recipe

I'm not sure how other meatballs are made (never bothered to look!), but this is what my fiance Vlad and I do for quick meatballs :)

Ingredients

ground beef (we usually use 1-2lbs)
onion
crushed red pepper
parsley & oregano (whatever spices you have and like on hand)
salt
older bread (something to do with not so fresh bread!!)
1 egg (or 2 if you're making a gigantic batch!!! This is just to help it stick so you don't need a lot)

Instructions

Soak bread in water and give a bit of a squeeze so it takes it all in to get mushy. Do not crush it to bits though! While that is soaking..
mince onion to little tiny bits (best if you lightly use a food processor, unless you are a pro at micro mincing with a knife ;) ) .. Just don't puree it haha
Squeeze out the excess water from the bread and add it into the ground beef.
Add in egg, crushed pepper, parsley, oregano, and salt to taste.. Yeah i know you can't taste this since it'll be touching raw meat but you should know how much you like of each spice XD I would say at LEAST a teaspoon of salt (unless you really like salty things) and everything else is easily gauged by you :)
Mix it all together REALLY well with your hands, unless of course you have a food processor to do this for you :) We work our hands.
Form into little balls. You can either put them all on a tray and give it a quick freeze for at least 30min then toss them in a container or bag so they won't all stick to eachother.. Or toss them in a fry pan with some olive oil, and enjoy those babies!!

Spring cleaning tips

I'm randomly subscribed to the Old Farmer's Almanac and thought I'd share some Spring Cleaning tips!!! It's about that time again to spruce up your place, and make it haut~! XD

• To remove white water spots on leather, cover them with a thick coat of petroleum jelly. Leave the petroleum jelly in place for about a day, then wipe it off with a soft cloth.
• To clean the filter in your dryer, first use an old toothbrush to remove any lint. Then soak the filter in vinegar overnight and rinse it with water.
• Before you start to vacuum, put a few drops of lemon juice into the dust bag. It will make the house smell fresh.
• Yellowed linens can be brightened with denture-cleaning tablets. Dissolve tablets (according to package directions) in a sink or washbasin of warm water. Add the stained linens and soak until the discoloration is gone. Wash as usual.

Also some recipes for home made cleaners here :) I will definitely try out the drops of lemon in the vacuum!

D&D Dice

I have never played D&D in my life but it sounds very interesting! Nobody wants to be the Dungeon Master though haha! The dice sure are appealing~ They're just so collectible with the all of those colours! So of course I had to make a list for the Chessex dice :9

#1 Borealis Pink w/Silver ---it looks like delicious CANDY!!! I would have wanted it with gold but they don't have it :(
Rest in no particular order
Borealis clear
Borealis Magenta w/Gold --- It looks like dark red to me on the picture...
Borealis Aquapurple w/Black --- looks like the clear but deeper .. can you tell I like borealis sets?
Borealis Purple w/White --- if Khara had a set, this would be hers. It has her hair colours xD
Scarab Scarlet w/Gold
Scarab Blueblood w/Gold --- the blue and red mixed together makes it deeper. If Prax and I did a combo, that would be our dice!
Frosted Pink w/White --- need to come up with more pink combos
Lustrous Shadow w/Gold
Gemini Black Red w/Gold
Gemini Purple Steel w/White
Mother of Pearl White w/Black
Leaf Copper w/Steel
Nebula Black w/White ---A lot of the Nebulas are nice too
Nebula Aquamarine w/White --- Another delightful colour! If Emma played, these would so be hers :)

I would have wanted the Golden Strawberry set but it's actually pretty ugly red/black speckled dice w/gold!!!! How that is golden strawberry I don't know :(

New obento

I can't get into my website right now and I'm too lazy to use flickr.. SO I will just post this link here... ^^;; Most of the lunches are just packed together and not exactly about being beautiful or anything. I just need it neat and pleasant looking enough.
